From the Cradle to the Grave II

This photograph was taken on a photography course led by Laura Page called Recapture. It was aimed at those if us with experience who wanted to improve their abilities. we wandered the city, something I love to do, capturing images that spoke to us of the city. We ended up in the General Cemetery and I was captivated by this image. The teddy bear in the foreground and the newly dug grave in the background with that expanse of living in between seemed powerful to me. The pathos of the toy and the finality of the grave on a dank winter day. Yet I find hope in this image the care of others that surrounds our living and creates meaning is not lost on me.
